Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of this website, our donation tools, and our application/assistance/grant forms (the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1) Eligibility & Lawful Use

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable U.S. and Pennsylvania law. You may not interfere with, disrupt, or attempt unauthorized access to the Services or related systems.

2) Governance

Wyoming County United Way is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees that oversees mission, policy, and fiduciary responsibilities.

3) Donations, Receipts & Disclosures

Donations are voluntary and, unless stated otherwise, non-refundable. We provide donor acknowledgments/receipts and required quid pro quo disclosures for contributions where goods/services are provided, consistent with IRS Publication 1771 and related guidance.

4) Pennsylvania Charitable Solicitation

WC UW complies with the Pennsylvania Solicitation of Funds for Charitable Purposes Act, including registration/renewal, disclosures, and recordkeeping as applicable.

5) Applications & Program Use

When you submit applications through our website, you consent to our collection and processing of the information (which may include financial and other sensitive data) to evaluate eligibility, deliver services, meet funder/government reporting requirements, and improve programs. Program-specific terms may appear at the point of collection.

6) AI-Assisted Processing

We may use limited AI-assisted tools (e.g., document classification, duplicate detection, fraud screening, analytics). Automated outputs are reviewed where appropriate. You may contact us to request more information about such processing as it relates to your submission.

7) Third-Party Service Providers

We use professional service providers and processors to operate and secure the Services. This includes Moodus Media LLC (website operations/maintenance) and other third-party platforms (e.g., secure hosting, payment processors, email/SMS vendors, file storage, analytics). 8) Intellectual Property

Site content is owned by WC UW or used under license. Except as permitted by law, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.

9) Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent allowed, WC UW and its officers, trustees, employees, and agents are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services.

10) Governing Law & Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Venue for disputes lies in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania.

11) Changes

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version here with a new Effective Date. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the changes.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and your choices. It applies to donors, applicants, volunteers, partners, vendors, and website visitors.

1) Information We Collect

  • Provided by you: contact information; donation data; application data (which may include financial information, household details, eligibility documents); messages and preferences.
  • Collected automatically: device/IP, browser information, cookies, and analytics about site usage and performance.
  • From service providers: payment processors, secure storage, communications vendors, analytics, and IT/security providers.

2) How We Use Information

  • Process donations, issue acknowledgments/receipts, and provide required quid pro quo disclosures when applicable.
  • Evaluate and administer applications and assistance; fulfill program reporting to funders and government agencies.
  • Operate, secure, and improve the Services; analyze usage; detect and prevent fraud/abuse.
  • Communicate about receipts, confirmations, program updates, events, and opportunities (opt out of non-essential emails anytime).
  • Comply with applicable laws, including Pennsylvania charitable solicitation requirements.

3) AI & Automated Decision Support

We may use AI-assisted tools to help classify documents, flag duplicates, or detect anomalies. We strive for fairness, transparency, and appropriate human oversight. You may request information about the nature of such processing as it relates to your data.

4) Sharing & Service Providers

We do not sell personal information. We share data with trusted vendors (e.g., payment processors, secure hosting/storage, email/SMS, audit/accounting, security) under agreements requiring confidentiality and appropriate safeguards. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security.

5) Data Security & Retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data. Financial, donor, and program records are retained as required by law and for audit/compliance (e.g., IRS, Pennsylvania charitable solicitation). Application records are retained for program, audit, and legal requirements, then securely deleted or archived.

6) Pennsylvania Breach Notification

If we determine a breach of security affecting Pennsylvania residents’ personal information has occurred, we will provide notifications in accordance with Pennsylvania’s Breach of Personal Information Notification Act and other applicable law.

7) Your Choices & Rights

  • Request access to or corrections of your information.
  • Request deletion where legally feasible (some records must be retained to meet legal/audit requirements).
  • Opt out of non-essential communications; transactional messages (e.g., receipts) will still be sent.

8) Children’s Information

Our Services are not directed to children under 13. If we learn we collected such data without appropriate consent, we will delete it.

9) Changes

We may update this policy; the Effective Date will reflect the latest version.

10) Third-Party Processors & Operators

We partner with professional service providers to operate our website and systems. This includes Moodus Media LLC (website operations/maintenance) and other third-party platforms (e.g., secure hosting, payment processing, file storage, analytics, communications). These providers act as processors/service providers under contractual safeguards.

Accessibility Statement

WC UW is committed to digital accessibility and inclusion. We aim to conform to the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and applicable U.S. accessibility laws, and we pursue ongoing improvements.

Our Efforts

Known Limitations

Some legacy PDFs, third-party embeds, and time-sensitive content may not fully meet the targeted level. Upon request, we will provide accessible alternatives within a reasonable time.
