The Wyoming County United Way will bring its 24th Annual Duck Derby to Tunkhannock Founders’ Day festivities on June 24, 2017. Proceeds from the Duck Derby help to fund more than 21 local agencies.  Every year the Duck Derby is a fun family event which is very important to the United Way’s annual campaign.

The Wyoming County United Way has been hosting the Duck Derby for a long time and the agencies funded are counting on it to be another successful event.  The culmination of the big event happens at 3 p.m. during Founders’ Day activities in Tunkhannock.

Wyoming County United Way relies on the generosity of area businesses to provide prizes for the event. Thanks to those businesses, there is more than $3,000 in prizes. Some of the prizes include: a GoPro donated by Stone House Investment Management LLC, Keurig Coffee Maker donated by Williams, a gas grill donated by Ace Robbins, one-year of free breakfast for one person at the Yearbook Diner, a Yeti Cooler donated by Gay’s True Value, a Coach Purse, baskets of Procter & Gamble products donated by P&G, other themed gift baskets, gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses, framed art donated by Framesmith, and much more.

A special thank you also goes to Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home and Tunkhannock Monument Company for covering the Duck Derby’s printing costs.

The generosity of our local businesses and community is what makes this event a success. Tickets are $5 each or a ‘6-Quack’ for $20. Tickets can be purchased at Gay’s True Value, People’s Security Bank, and the United Way. They will also be available at the United Way stand during Founders’ Day.
