Many individuals and businesses have asked us how they can get involved and volunteer at a local non-profit Wyoming County agency. We have listed a few that were given to us with contact names and phone numbers to learn more.
Family Service Association of Wyoming Valley: 4-6 volunteers (in Feb) who would drop off flyers at various business/medical/agency offices in Tunkhannock. 3 volunteers to act as Program Hosts the day of the Tunkhannock Community Education Fair (April 20) to welcome participating exhibitors, direct them to their information tables. They plan, organize, solicit and carry out the annual campaign and fundraising events which impact our entire community.
Community Investment Committee members are needed to review funding requests from UW partner agencies, tour agencies and evaluate programs to ensure the programs receiving funding meet high standards of fiscal responsibility and results. After reviewing grant applications the committee makes recommendations to UW’s governing board.
